Fanfan artwork

Once again it's a privilege to have the talented Dilhermando de Assis on board to do the artwork for Fanfan.

He has captured the essence of Fanfan, and her lovely wardrobe of eight outfits.

Anouk gets a friend

Since 2019/20 I've secretly been developing and planning on expanding the Anouk line. A boyfriend and a best friend.

Unfortunately the boyfriend had to be abandoned because of Covid and costs.

The friend however has been in development. The first thing; what to call her? I had many ideas. Some French, some exotic, some traditional. Finally my dear friend Eric Chatillon suggested two names I loved: Coco and Fanfan, diminutives of Corrine and Francoise.

I finally settled on Fanfan because it suited the personality I wanted to project for the doll. She is Anouk's, bolder, mischievous childhood friend!

I wanted her to look unusual with a lot of character in her face. Not traditionally pretty, but still attractive.

I've always loved faces with feline and close set eyes. Therefore from the doll world I've been influenced by Barbara Parlante by Lili Ledy, and Bettina by Sebino.

In terms of real women Karen Black, Haji, Madhubala, and Yma Sumac have all left their mark on Fanfan.

Anouk series 5: Alta Moda

Apologies that I haven't posted properly for a long time. Sometimes life takes over.

Last May, series 5 released. It was an unprecedented success, and for the first time ever, I virtually sold out in a single day!!! My head was spinning and I'm just so grateful.

There were many factors that contributed to the success: Anouk had lovely new make up, new hair shades of Silver blonde and Black Cherry, the Furga Alta Moda inspired fashions were exquisite, a superb promo film by Cristian Gradin, and wonderful artwork by Dilhermando de Assis for the booklet.

Feast your eyes on this beautiful series, and thanks so much for its unprecedented success!
